UV/VIS Spektroskopie
A dual-beam spectrometer (Lambda 650) from PerkinElmer is available for the investigation of absorption in the UV/Vis range. The measurement of solids is possible by using a Praying Mantis. This focuses the light from the spectrometer on the sample, where it is diffusely scattered from the surface. Then the diffuse light is focused by a special arrangement of mirrors, directed back to the spectrometer and analyzed.
In this way, the absorption behaviour of powdered samples can be investigated both at room temperature and at higher temperatures up to 600 °C. The atmosphere in the sample can also be controlled in the sample chamber by using the mobile gas mixer.
