- Brief Profile
I am Irene Lamata and I come from Guadalajara, Spain. I obtained my chemistry degree at the University of Zaragoza. During my undergradute I took part in the erasmus + programme and spent the last year at the university of Ostrava, Czech Repulic, where I carried out a reasearch project in carbon materials. I wanted to continue growing my knowledge in materials and in 2021, I moved out to Seville to get my master's degree in Material Science. While I was doing my master's thesis, I worked as a reasercher in a project at the biomimetic and multifunctional materials group, where I dived deeper into carbonaceous materials. I found the topic very exciting and decided to come to Germany to work in the group of Jun. Prof. Nieves Lopez Salas as a PhD student at the sustainable materials chemistry group where I am studying the interactions between liquids and carbonaceous materials by solid state NMR.
