New nanoIR3-s

This new experimental setup combines atomic force microscopy (AFM) with infrared spectroscopy. It allows us to determine the chemical composition of surfaces spatially resolved with a lateral resolution < 100 nm.

New near ambient pressure XPS

This new experimental setup combines photoelectron spectroscopy (PES) in the x-ray range (XPS) and ultra-violet range (UPS) with infrared spectroscopy (FT-IRRAS). The setup allows the surface characterization of materials in a pressure range of up to 20 mbar.

SFB TR 87 - 3RD FUNDING PHASE GRANTED

The 3rd funding phase of the SFB TR 87  (2018-2022)– “Pulsed high power plasmas for the synthesis of nanostructured functional layers” has been granted. Within the University of Paderborn, the research groups of Teresa de los Arcos, Thomas Kühne and Guido Grundmeier participate in this consortium with three projects on the deposition of thin films with controlled permeability and the interface chemistry of wear resistant plasma coatings.
