The city of paderborn

Paderborn is a dynamic city with almost 150,000 inhabitants, embedded in a charming and green environment. Here, tradition meets modernity: high-tech companies alongside ancient buildings from the Middle Ages or the Weser Renaissance. The world's largest computer museum is located here, as is the Romanesque-Gothic cathedral from the 13th century.Paderborn is also known for the Pader spring area: Germany's shortest river and the city's namesake - the Pader - rises in a green oasis in the centre of the city. The quality of life is high in and around Paderborn. There is a wide range of indoor and outdoor sports facilities, numerous parks and water areas as well as many traditional and modern events, such as the annual Libori festival. As a university city, Paderborn has a lively student scene. Compared to many other cities, Paderborn has remained affordable and offers sufficient housing options for students. Paderborn is one of the few German cities with a young and growing demographic structure. There are first-class schools, a lively start-up culture and many high-tech companies in the mechanical engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, textiles, healthcare and food sectors - an attractive environment for chemistry graduates too.
