Sustainable Interfacial Engineering of Advanced Materials and Composites
The working group “Interfacial Engineering of Advanced Materials and Composites” focuses on the analysis of advanced interface dominated materials and thin films. Methods for the surface and interface analysis open the door for the understanding of structure/property-relations like adhesion and de-adhesion mechanisms in the (macro-)molecular and microscopic levels. Based on the knowledge of the fundamental adsorption and desorption mechanisms, we aim at the advancement of the properties such as adhesion, corrosion resistance and interfacial stabilities. The studies include the development of sustainable surface technologies. Our current research is focused on the following topics:
