Tethered liquids

Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) acts as a tethered liquid on different polymer matrices. PDMS forms covalently bound liquid-like domains via phase separation. There are many different applications. It can be used as an anti-fouling coating for ships, in fuel cells to ease the water transportation or for the use in selflubricating wire coatings.
