Radiation protection in the Department of Chemistry is coordinated by the radiation protection officers.
These are Dr Christian Weinberger (all equipment in the Department of Chemistry, representative for X-ray photoelectron spectrometers) and PD Dr Teresa de los Arcos (X-ray photoelectron spectrometers).
Persons who use X-rays must receive initial training on work methods, possible dangers, applicable safety and protection measures, and the essential content of the Radiation Protection Act, the Radiation Protection Ordinance, and the issued permits relevant to their activities. This training must be repeated annually. The Radiation Protection Officer conducts the initial training and ensures the annual repeat training. Please contact us to schedule a training appointment.
